French girl looking for a room near Columbia University

Hi everyone,
I'm from Paris, will be living in NYC from January 7th until the end of the semester (june/july) and I would like to share an apartment with international/American roommates. I will be following a MA in Sustainable Development at Columbia University, so I need a place where I can study but also I would like to share cool moments with my roommates, not being in an anonymous atmosphere! I already lived with 10 people from all around the world in Madrid for a year so I know what it is to share a flat, no worries ;) I also travelled a lot, even on my own, so I can adapt easily. My maximum is $1000 and preferably near Columbia Uni. Thanks & Cheers !
