Bright and spacious room for rent in a writer’s apartment

Hi there! I’m looking for a clean and friendly female roommate for the second bedroom in my spacious and beautiful apartment in Forest Hills.

Location: Forest Hills, NY (E, F, M, R trains, 25 minutes to Manhattan)

10 minutes to the subway and shopping/dining on Austin Street

Duration: Month-to-month lease, which can be extended if we get along well as roommates.

Pets: There is a cute and friendly cat in the house

To move in: Security (1250) + First month (1250)

Looking for a roommate to share a very spacious, sunny, and clean two-bedroom apartment in the heart of Forest Hills. The apartment is a co-op on a quiet tree-lined block (five minutes away from Forest Hills Stadium where US Open used to take place.) All the furniture and appliances are new and spotless. My unit is on the third floor and there is an elevator. I lived in the space for two years, and the place was renovated right before I moved in. It’s a really safe neighborhood + there is a live-in super in the building.

The room for rent is a 12’ x 10’ bedroom with essential furniture (full-size posturpedic bed, a desk, a chair and wardrobe—and bedding and towels, if you need them). There is enough space to add at least two dressers, as well as a library or armchair. The room is very bright, gets continuous bright light from the morning until the evening through its two large windows.

The fully-equipped kitchen and bathroom are shared, and you will be expected to keep them clean at all times. There is a laundry room in the building.

I’m a hardworking writer/editor who has lived in NYC for 5+ years. I worked for well-known fashion magazines in the past, and am currently working on two of my own projects, and writing for multiple publications, using home as my office. Professionally, I’m well-known in my industry. Personally, I’m sincere, considerate, and quiet. I love hearing about your life and staying up to date, but I also work long hours while I’m home, and enjoy peace and quiet once I leave my desk. I love to cook, read and make collages in my free time. I’m very friendly, and if you need help navigating work/life in NYC, I will help you to the best of my ability. Every once in a while, I love to have a glass of wine with my roommate.

I currently share the apartment with a cat friend. He is handsome, loving, and sociable.

What I hope to find in a roommate:
If what I said about my personality reminds you of yourself, great! Because I am looking for the same qualities in a roommate (laid-back, clean, quiet, has an ambition/goal in life, respectful of others’ time and space). Since I work from home, I’m looking for someone who is either in school, or has a full-time job, or an internship/a place to be on the regular, daytime hours five days a week. (Work also gets me out of the house—so I’m not there 24/7, but when I am during 9 to 5, I prefer to be alone.)
