Big Sunny Private Room in 2BR with in North Park Slope/Prospect Heights

I'm leaving the country and looking for someone to take over my big, beautiful room in a 2-bedroom apartment on the border of Park Slope and Prospect Heights starting ASAP. I'll miss it a lot--it's a wonderful place to call home! Move in date is flexible in Nov, we can rotate. The room is available now!

The Apartment/Room: It's on the parlor floor right at the top of the stoop in a beautiful townhouse. The apartment is [X] square feet and the bedroom is [Y] square feet. Putting XY here bc I have no idea how big it is. I have a queen size bed, a Fulton, a dresser, a bookcase, nightstand, a desk, fitting perfectly. The bedroom is really spacious, has two windows and lots of natural light, really high ceilings, and a private closet. It's all the way on the other end of the apartment from the other bedroom. In between is a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and hall closet.

The Apartment Community: The landlord is really great, really cares about his tenants and the space, and responds promptly to any questions or concerns. He'll bike over if you ever need anything. My roommate is a recent Harvard grad in studio art-- a quiet creative type who mostly keeps to himself but is friendly and great about communicating clearly about all the little things it takes to share and maintain a space together. We like to tell each other when we will and won't be around, but are both always welcome in the apartment. He's a heavy sleeper, so you can feel free to come in late at night and use the kitchen and living room. We treat the apartment as a place of refuge: not really a place for parties or big gatherings, but always a place your loved ones are welcome, a place to have a friend or two over to hang out or stay the night.

Transportation: Basically the best: you can get to pretty much anywhere in downtown Manhattan in 15 minutes (and anywhere in midtown in 25). It's a quarter of a block from the Bergen St 2/3 Station, and less than a five-minute walk from Atlantic Ave-Barclays Center (2,3,4,5,B,D,N,Q,R !!! and Long Island Rail Road). Also less than a ten-minute walk from the Lafayette Ave A/C Station and the Fulton St G Station. And tons of buses.

Location: Tucked away on a quiet residential block of Bergen St just off the intersection with 6th Ave and Flatbush Ave. Our apartment is right on the border of Park Slope and Prospect Heights, and a short walk from several other great Brooklyn neighborhoods. Just about anything you would want or need is all within a few blocks: great coffee shops (the one on the corner is our favorite!), lots of restaurants and nightlife, grocery stores, banks, a walk-in medical clinic, shipping centers, copy shops, toy stores, barbers/hair salons, all sorts of interesting specialty shops. We're a few blocks away from Barclays Center, which has basketball and hockey games and concerts and events with big-name celebrities (but far enough away that the crowds don't come). One subway stop away (or a 15 minute walk) from Prospect Park, Grand Army Plaza and the Brooklyn Public Library. And go one more stop for the Brooklyn Museum and Brooklyn Botanical Garden.

Requirements: credit check; Must be queer-friendly and trans-friendly. Must respect people's privacy. No couples. No pets.

To move in: credit check, last month and deposit, then first month, depending on when you wanna move in, we can rotate. This lease ends June.30th, 2016. You are welcome to renew the lease by that time. Furnitures minus mattress are free if you want them. Kitchen is fully stacked, living room is fully furnished.
