Basement room for rent between Main and Cambie on 26th

Hi there! We are looking to rent the basement room of our home for August 1st.
The house was built in the 1940's and as travellers, we have truly made it our home away from home. We share the living space, the washroom, and the beautiful garden.
We are looking for someone who will be willing and able to contribute to house keeping and work in the garden. Cleaning, lawn mowing, and general up keep of our home is very important to us. If we all put in just a touch of effort it becomes very easy to manage.
Our home is fun, musical, artistic, loving, respectful, and just a little bit whimsical. We do things as a team and we also value and respect other's down time.
We often enjoy movie nights with popcorn in the living room by the fireplace, cooking together, and having dinner with friends and family. This is a loving home and all are welcome.

About Sam:
26 year old female, studied Interior Design at The Art Institute of Vancouver and currently working in the restaurant industry in Gastown. I love painting, listening to music, playing music, having friends in for dinner and acoustic jams, yoga, etc. I'm social but also enjoy my own space very much. I am a bit of a neat freak and like having a tidy and clean space, so someone who is able to contribute to help keep up our home is very important to me.

About Lewis:
25 year old cis male, I work as a cook at a lovely cafe on Main St. I moved to Vancouver from Winnipeg a year and a half ago and have been enjoying getting to know the city. I love culinary adventures and good music (often together; my record player is firmly located in the kitchen and can totally be used by anyone). In addition to cooking my other major passions are writing and politics. I can be a lot of fun, but I also highly value having my own space.

There are four rooms in the house; the third is currently being occupied by a visitor until September 1st, and then we will be looking to fill that space as well. Ultimately we would like to find people who value their house being a home; as well as a safe space for all who inhabit it (residents as well as guests).

The house is within walking distance of King Edward Skytrain Station as well as major bus routes along King Ed, Cambie and Main. We're walking distance from numerous restaurants, three grocery stores, book stores, record stores and a 24 hour convenience store. From our back porch you can see the beauty of Queen Elizabeth Park and you can often hear the cheers coming from Nat Bailey Stadium. It takes about 15 minutes to get to Waterfront Station and 30 to get to UBC (via transit)

We acknowledge that our lovely home is located on unceded Coast Salish territory; as such we try to make a point to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible so this space can be enjoyed for generations to come.
